Shoot The Messenger explores the tight-knit world of Stockholm’s cycle messengers, bringing together portraits, still-life imagery and the riders’ own words. Begun in 2018, the project looks beyond the bicycles to the individuals who ride them, documenting a working community that keeps moving through the city’s harshest winters.
The photographs and personal accounts offer complementary perspectives on the messengers’ working lives and shared culture. At the heart of the book is the bicycle: a tool of the trade and a common thread connecting the people portrayed. Together, these images and voices form a portrait of a distinctive community and the individuals who give it character..
